Evaporative Indirect Hydration Mechanism: Unlike the direct hydration system in the original model, the evaporative indirect hydration system provides a different way to manage humidity. This mechanism tends to be easier for most users to understand and manage. The heat cable placement lets you adjust the evaporation rate and overall humidity.
Three Customizable Sections: Adjust these sections to your needs by controlling the position of the vinyl tube.
Increased Height: More vertical space for your ant colonies.
Additional Nesting Chambers: More chambers within the same footprint for optimized space usage.
Clear Chamber Walls: The substrate is placed at the bottom, ensuring easy viewing.
More Tubing Ports and Connection Options: Offers flexibility in your setup.
Heat Cable Tunnels: Allows superior temperature regulation, including managing condensation when the heating cable is placed above.
The package includes the nest, small tubing with a fibre plug, three plugs for tubing ports, and your choice of light protection (red film, black plastic lid, or none).
The unit includes a vinyl tube with a polyester fibre plug for fully-claustral species for ventilation. You can adjust the plug's position to enable different usage of the chambers. The plug can be replaced with cotton or other suitable materials.
Over-evaporation may cause condensation on the top glass, but this can be managed by placing the heating cable from above, reducing the heat supplied to the water chamber, and moving the cable further away from the waterside.
While the original Apartment remains ideal for certain high-humidity species and specific use cases, Apartment V2 presents a different approach to ant-keeping with unique features.
The tubing ports accept 9.5mm (3/8") vinyl tubing. The formicarium is made with PLA Pro plastic, mineral substrate, glass and neodymium magnets.
