This glass display foraging arena is elegant, with multiple viewing angles, functional, sturdy and easy to service while preventing escapes.
The arenas have a square bottom area surrounded by four glass panels; the height proportion is slightly less than the length (64% to 75%) depending on the size, giving that "HD look." One of the walls has three tubing ports for ample connectivity options. The top features dual lids with a removable plastic fine grid (0.4mm pores) and horizontal flat ledges to force the ants to walk upside down on a slippery barrier.
The outworld is made mainly of clear glass; a 3d printed PLA pro plastic frame provides the bottom and lids and a structure to attach everything and seal all gaps to prevent escapes. Hardy aquarium-safe silicone is the most used adhesive, the four glass panel edges make contact glass to glass, and any gaps in between are filled with clear UV resin. Only the outside edges feature the corner plastic protections. The inside is plain glass, which means the bottom plastic is separated from the top.
Seven sizes are available, from 8x8x6 to 20x20x14 cm (Length x Width x Height). The smaller 8x8x6 option is slightly larger than our standard mini glass outworld (2-glass design). The first photos correspond to the 20x20x14 size and the rest the 10x10x7 size.

Alternatively, you can add our pre-screened, washed and oven-baked "substrate" to your order.
We recommend using a thick barrier similar to petroleum jelly on the lip around the big lid; this helps lubricate contact surfaces and seals them with the edge rim. Use your preferred escape barrier on the top portion glass and the horizontal ledge of the top lid (talcum powder, fluon, petroleum jelly, oil, etc.). Once in a while, refresh such and inspect to ensure no weaknesses in the barrier. Usually, combining more than one method provides sturdier escape prevention.
